Ingredients:

  • 4 ripe tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 lb (450 g) fresh mozzarella, sliced
  • 1 bunch fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbsp balsamic glaze (optional)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

 

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Ingredients:
    • Wash and slice the tomatoes into 1/4-inch thick slices.
    • Slice the mozzarella into 1/4-inch thick slices.
    • Wash and pat dry the basil leaves.

  2. Assemble the Salad:
    • On a large serving platter, arrange the tomato slices, mozzarella slices, and basil leaves in an alternating pattern.
    • Start with a tomato slice, then place a mozzarella slice slightly overlapping the tomato, followed by a basil leaf. Continue this pattern until all the ingredients are used.

  3. Season and Dress:
    • Drizzle the extra virgin olive oil evenly over the salad.
    • If using, drizzle the balsamic glaze over the salad as well.
    • Sprinkle with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.

  4. Serve:
